Share Your Story

While Surviving Mexico–Adventures and Disasters is mainly about our own personal doings here in Mexico (see About Us), I’ve come to realize that there are so many things about surviving in Mexico that I still have yet to experience.

Here’s where you can help add to our storehouse of knowledge.  If you are involved in a charity or volunteer organization or write a blog about, homesteading, living or traveling in Mexico, contact us to have it included in our Resources for Creating a Life Well Lived in Mexico.

If you have a story to share that would be of interest to our readers and would like to see it published here at Surviving Mexico, read on for complete submission guidelines.  As we don’t make any real money from our blog, we do NOT pay for guest posts at this time.

We have quite a variety of faithful readers, from homesteaders and preppers, to world wanderers, both physical travelers and armchair dreamers, and my mom.  It is our goal to make Surviving Mexico a comprehensive compilation of information to aid families, retirees, and adventurers currently living in Mexico or planning on moving to Mexico.  As such, our topics include cultural tidbits, historical anecdotes, current events, education and travel information about Mexico.

Guest posts must be original and belong to the submitter. They should not be posted on any other site or be reposted on another site. Posts must be categorized into one of the topics Surviving Mexico focuses on (Homesteading in Mexico, Prepping in Mexico, Cultural Challenges, Electricity, Water and Employment issues in Mexico, Mexican Holidays, Mexican Food and Drink, Flora and Fauna native to Mexico, Natural Healing practices in Mexico, Traveling in Mexico, Safety and Security issues in Mexico, Parenting in Mexico, Education in Mexico, Living in Mexico, Mexican languages,  Mexican Religion, Tourist sites in Mexico) Please see our guest blogger section for more ideas about topics.

Posts should be between 800 to 1500 words.  Longer posts may be divided into separate posts.

Guest posts should be written in English or Spanish, and have already undergone a general spell-check and editing process.  External links can be included as recommendations however I make the final call as to whether the link is appropriate to this site.  If you are quoting or have used another site as reference, please include a link to the original cited site.

At least one original picture or graphic should be included.  The author must have full permission to use the images provided.

While I do post at least once a week, I often have posts scheduled a month or more in advance. If you haven’t heard from me within a week of your submission, please feel free to email me to make sure that I received your submission. I reserve the right to refuse to post stories that do not meet the above guidelines.  I also reserve the right to edit the submitted post if needed.  I will typically send any revised posts for your approval before posting.

If you have any further questions, please email me.  Have an inspiring day!
